Laptops for Children - Digital Drive Campaign activity update.

Local Community Rapid Testing programme now in place.
The local Community Rapid Testing programme, using lateral flow tests (LFTs) has launched successfully over the past two weeks, and we are encouraging people aged 18+ who are key workers or are having to leave home to go to work, to access rapid tests at sites across the county. Fallen Tree in Marsh Lane
Please be aware of a fallen tree along Marsh Lane, on the left hand side, on the bend near the gate entering the village, which is causing a partial obstruction and may cause traffic to swerve out to avoid. It has been reported and will hopefully be cleared soon.

Thorpe Pumping Station Update
The blocked suction pipe was cleared on Friday 22nd Jan and the tankers were stood down on that date although further visits may be necessary.
The maintenance team have also upgraded the impellers on the pump to be able to give the station a better flow rate. We are still experiencing a high flow into site from the other inline pumping stations on the network due to the levels of surface water in the... Read More »

Flood Risk Awareness - heavy rain expected over next 48 hours.
Levels in our rivers and watercourses are still relatively high, the ground is saturated and a period of rain is expected in the area soon - there is currently an amber warning from the Met Office for rain and a yellow warning from the Environment Agency(EA) for flooding linked to the Great Ouse, its tributaries and network of drains.

Thorpe Pumping Station - Blocked Pump
Councillor Waters has recieved an update from The Huntingdon Maintenance Team regarding The Thorpe pumping station. Anglian Water are currently making every effort at the Thorpe pumping station in order to clear enough surface water from the 'wet well' to get at the blocked suction pipe that has forced one of the pumps to stop working.
