The reason for this is because having dug down on the pipe, the job is somewhat more complicated than originally assessed. "Due to an issue with the sewer pipe in Hemingford High Street we are currently using tankers to ensure that customers can continue to use their facilities as normal. From tomorrow (Saturday) we will be installing overpumps which will remain in place while we complete this emergency work. Anglian Water have begun carrying out repairs to the sewer under the High Street adjacent to Budgens and the road is likely to be closed for the duration
Work is expected to last for at least a week but may take longer depending on what is involved.
An update will be available as soon as Anglian Water provide more details.

The play areas at Daintree Green and Mitchell Close are to remain closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Please do not use the play areas while restrictive measures are in place and avoid any play areas that have not yet been taped shut. The surrounding grass areas remain open for use subject to current advice regarding social distancing.

Following storm Ciara there have been numerous incidents of falling trees obstructing roads and footpaths and other wind damage around the village, most of which now appears to have been cleared.
The tree blocking Filbert's Walk has been reported to CCC but has in the meantime been cleared for pedestrian use.
