Regatta Field Bank Renovation Works 3rd- 18th June 2021

There will be contractors carrying out revetment works at Hemingford Regatta Field between grid references TL2890970754 and TL2875670847 from 3rd to 18th June. Contractors will be working from the river bank, moving along the bank in sections of approximately 20-30m at a time.

Navigation in this area will not be affected but please proceed with caution.

Works at Hemingford Grey Quarry to start next week

Works at Hemingford Grey Quarry to start next week

The Parish Council have been informed by Land Logical that they will be starting works at the quarry adjacent to Marsh Lane from Monday 22nd March.

The initial works will be to open up the entrance, installing a suitable bellmouth, gates and fencing.

This work will be followed by further archaeological works immediately after Easter, with quarrying works expected to commence a week or so later.

The blocked suction pipe was cleared on Friday 22nd Jan and the tankers were stood down on that date although further visits may be necessary.

Flood Risk Awareness - heavy rain expected over next 48 hours.

Levels in our rivers and watercourses are still relatively high, the ground is saturated and a period of rain is expected in the area soon - there is currently an amber warning from the Met Office for rain and a yellow warning from the Environment Agency(EA) for flooding linked to the Great Ouse, its tributaries and network of drains.

Councillor Waters has recieved an update from The Huntingdon Maintenance Team regarding The Thorpe pumping station.
