Five Arch Bridge, B1040, Hilton - Emergency closure - 8th June 2020
Five Arch Bridge - There will be an emergency road closure on the B1040, Potton Road, Hilton. The piled retaining wall is due to be replaced on the 8th June and the closure will be in place for two weeks between 09:30 and 15:30, Monday-Friday. The road will be open, and traffic lights in place out of these hours. Due to the length of time ordering materials, as well as the workforce being stood down due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, this is the earliest achievable date for works to begin. Skanska will continue to monitor the retaining wall and verge until construction begins.
Skanska have been assessing the site over the past few weeks and due to the changing ground conditions have discovered that wall is moving which has expedited the need to carry out these works. Scheme information boards will also be going out on site at some point this week or next.
