For The Love of Scrubs!
Call for good quality used sheets, duvets, and pillow cases. Throughout the country groups of volunteers have been sewing scrubs for hospitals, hospices and care homes. In the Hemingfords there is a very active group of sewers who have been very busy making scrubs, scrub bags and other items. They are linked to a network of local groups working out of Huntingdon. To date they have managed to equip Peterborough and Hichingbrooke Hospital with the scrubs they need and are now moving onto Addenbrookes Hospital. For this they use specially purchased material. However they are also making kit for care homes and hospices and for this they need good quality used bed linen (duvets, sheets and pillowcases and spare thread). So if you have not already ransacked your linen cupboard please could you look and see if you could spare anything.Practicalities- if you can please launder the items at 60 degrees, iron and sellotape into a carrier bag and label with contents, and date laundered and of course the name and address of the donor. If you don't have time to wash and iron please don't worry as there is a team of people ready to do the washing and ironing.Either leave on my bench by my front door- 18 De Vere Close, Hemingford Grey, PE28 9BH or ring/email for collection - 01480 465774 firstname.lastname@example.org(In the unlikely event that it is raining I will open the carport gate and please leave any items in the red box!)ThanksAnne
