New Parish Speed Sign
The speed indicator sign outside Geaves Farm on Hemingford Road was put up over a week ago. It flashes a warning if a driver exceeds the 30mph speed limit and should also count the number of cars passing and the speed at which they are travelling. After seven days (of half term) it appears to show a number of vehicles travelling at over 50 mph and a lot more exceeding 40 mph. We are awaiting more advice from the supplier in order to produce more useful statistics.
The device is currently running on a battery but this will be replaced with mains power from the lamp column in the next few days. We aim to move the device to different roads (and different directions) every few weeks.
