Gore Tree Road UPDATE 14 OCT 2018
Posted: Sun, 14 Oct 2018 16:41 by Kim Loader
Gore Tree road is currently closed in both directions at the junction with Manor Road while Anglian Water are carrying out emergency repairs to a collapsed sewer.
The engineers have found the sewer and now have to locate the damaged section. Work has been hampered by the heavy rain which collected in the hole. A pump is now in place and should resolve the issue.
They are working 12 hour shifts 7am to 7pm and a sewage tanker seems to be in Gore Tree Road 24 hours a day removing the sewage.
They have advised the PC that we should state on the website that they hope to have the work completed by the end of the next week; though this is dependant on what they find once they are able to access the deep sewer and locate the collapsed section.
Anglian Water arranged for signs to be put at the end of Gore Tree road on the A14 stating that De Vere Close is accessible but to access Burlington Way to follow the diversion. This is incorrect as to access Burlington Way you have to approach it from the A14 end. There is no access from Braggs Lane.
We will keep you updated as soon as new information is received.
