Thorpe Pumping Station - Blocked Pump
Councillor Waters has recieved an update from The Huntingdon Maintenance Team regarding The Thorpe pumping station. Anglian Water are currently making every effort at the Thorpe pumping station in order to clear enough surface water from the 'wet well' to get at the blocked suction pipe that has forced one of the pumps to stop working. Heavy Rain - Localised Flooding
There are currently two flood warnings in force for areas around Ellington, Alconbury and Brampton with heavy surface water on many of the local roads, including the slipway access to the A1307 from Hemingford Abbots (which has been coned off at the time of writing) and many stretches leading to.
Please take care if driving and make sure your planned route isn't under water!

Defibrillator and Training
The Parish Council is arranging for a defibrillator to be installed on the outside wall of the village school. A training session will be arranged in the village in due course for those who wish to take part, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic this is not currently possible and the Council will be looking at this again in the New Year (2021) In the meantime, however, the suppliers of the defibrillator... Notice of Meeting - Flood & Sewage Issues
Christmas and New Year flooding and sewage issues
The Parish Council is aware that there has been surface water flooding at several places in the village and wider Parish. We are also aware that Anglian Water are regularly attending the sewage pumping station at the Thorpe.

Floods Now Receding
The latest information we have is that the peak of water the EA have prepared for has now passed through large parts of Huntingdonshire with minimal impact on residential property. Levels are expected to continue falling and no issues are expected.
