Marsh Lane Gravel Extraction
Works at Hemingford Grey Quarry will commence from Monday 22nd March
The initial works will be to open up the entrance, installing a suitable bellmouth, gates and fencing.
This work will be followed by further archaeological works immediately after Easter, with quarrying works expected to commence a week or so later.
Village School Defibrillator
The Parish Council is arranging for a defibrillator to be installed on the outside wall of Hemingford Grey Primary School. A training session will be arranged in the village in due course, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic this is not currently possible and the Council will be looking at this again in the New Year (2021) In the meantime, however, the suppliers of the defibrillator have drawn attention to an online training session that can be viewed and shared remotely via the following link:

Dr John Walshe - Happy 100th Birthday!
Hemingford Grey resident, Dr John Walshe, will be celebrating his 100th birthday on 24th April. He was born in Kensington, London, to Sir Francis Walshe who was an internationally distinguished neurologist, and followed in his father's footsteps with a distinguished medical career of his own. To mark this event, Esther Harrod recently talked to John about his lifetime work and family background with some pictures of John to accompany. Floods of 1998
This video, filmed by by John Jenkin, is a record of how flooding in 1998 affected Hemingford Grey and the surrounding area. The new flood defences were completed in 2007 at a cost of £9.3 million.
