Works at Hemingford Grey Quarry will commence from Monday 22nd March

The Parish Council have been informed by Land Logical that they will be starting works at the quarry from Monday 22nd March.

The initial works will be to open up the entrance, installing a suitable bellmouth, gates and fencing.

This work will be followed by further archaeological works immediately after Easter, with quarrying works expected to commence a week or so later.

Village School Defibrillator

The Parish Council is arranging for a defibrillator to be installed on the outside wall of Hemingford Grey Primary School. A training session will be arranged in the village in due course, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic this is not currently possible and the Council will be looking at this again in the New Year (2021) In the meantime, however, the suppliers of the defibrillator have drawn attention to an online training session that can be viewed and shared remotely via the following link:

Dr John Walshe - Happy 100th Birthday!

Hemingford Grey resident, Dr John Walshe, will be celebrating his 100th birthday on 24th April. He was born in Kensington, London, to Sir Francis Walshe who was an internationally distinguished neurologist, and followed in his father's footsteps with a distinguished medical career of his own. To mark this event, Esther Harrod recently talked to John about his lifetime work and family background with some pictures of John to accompany. You can read the full article by clicking on the link below. Happy Birthday Dr Walshe.
